Regrind Now Available!

14.07.2025

You heard it here first, we officially are offering regrind options for our records! Learn all about it below

What is regrind?

Regrind vinyl is created by repurposing PVC material that would otherwise be discarded.

We take the offcuts from our records and also records that don’t make it through our visual quality control process and ground these back into pellets. These are then blended together to create a new batch of material for pressing. Using regrind reduces the demand for new PVC production, which requires significant energy and resources.

We are also a recycling facility for any unwanted records. We regrind these and donate these to local business thinkfencing who use the material to make fence posts.

What does it look like?

Regrind vinyl often results in unique colour variations, resembling a marble effect, due to the mixed nature of the regrinding process.

We separate our colours so we can always offer “blue-ish”, “green-ish”, “red-ish” and lucky rainbow. You can see samples of these colours here.

If you’re after a specific colour, let us know and we can see if we can mix something up for you!

It is not an exact science so you may receive either one consistent and uniform colour within your selected colour or you may receive various shades within that colour spectrum.

This depends on what we have at the time of press and also the size of the run. We cannot anticipate exactly what will come through the press until we press the final run which is exciting!

You can also ask for a lucky rainbow which means we will randomly select regrind and it will be a complete mystery as to what you and your customers receive. Please contact us if you have any questions about regrind options. We will need to know what colour spectrum you would like when the job is confirmed by us so we can ensure we have enough of this colour set aside just for you!

What does it sound like?

Regrind vinyl records generally offer comparable sound quality to those made from virgin PVC and we ensure that there is no major difference when pressing with regrind.

How much does it cost?

We don’t charge for black or coloured regrind! As long as you’re comfortable with a bit of uncertainty regarding the exact shade of each of our colours, this is a great budget option if you’re after a coloured pressing.
